Tungsten Foil Application

There is a wide application for tungsten foil, which is as target in EOS. Factors influenced the target effect are thickness, surface condition, density and grain size direction. Mostly, the purity of foil used for target is 99.90%min, but with density over 19.0g/cm3 to ensure its shielding effect. The surface condition can be rough, or smooth, but regularly, the most used is electrolytic polishing.

As heat generator in sapphire growth furnace, after connecting the power, current goes through, with the property of high electricity conductivity, the foil is heating, then the heat is generated.

Tungsten Foil

Tungsten foil is made of pure tungsten with purity over 99.95%, and density of 19.2g/cm3 and with very thin thickness. This kind of foil is widely used to make parts for electricity, and raw material to produce tungsten boat. With the development of LED sapphire growth furnace, the use of tungsten foil has come to the heat resistance shielding and heat spreader.

Tungsten Filament - Stranded Tungsten Heater

Tungsten stranded tungsten wire, namely tungsten heater, and always called tungsten filament. It is not to explain the wire used in the lamp, but to use as heater for vacuum coating.

As the drawing showed, the wire can be single wire, double wires and three ones and three strands with one Al wire.

Tungsten heater made of tungsten wire, features high melting point and high corrosion resistance, mainly applied for vacuum metallizing, such as aluminizing scope, chrome scope, mirrors, plastics and heater elements for decoration articles.

Tungsten Molybdenum in China

Pure tungsen is similar to pure molybdenum in properties, and most of the alloys can be added, such tungsten lanthanum to molybdenum lanthanum. China owns most of tungsten ores around the world, and the one we would like to mention is China is also the biggest producer of molybdenum, which is statistics from the US Geological Survey (USGS).

China
Mine production: 100,000 tonnes
China produces the vast majority of the world's moly, and despite a 1,000-tonne drop in production between 2014 and 2015, the country remains the globe's biggest producer by a large margin.

The Asian country's massive economy includes a giant industrial sector, and it is keen to limit its reliance on western mine output. By producing the moly needed to keep its industrial capacity strong, China avoids overpaying for imported metal. In years past, the country leveraged its position as the top moly producer by limiting exports of the metal, but as mentioned above, that changed in 2015. The full implications of China's more open trade policy for moly remain unclear.
