Introduction

Ceriated tungsten electrode contains a cerium oxide additive. This type of tungsten electrode was launched in the 1980s with the gray electrode tip, it enjoyed a great popular by manufacturers after launching. Charateristics

Cerium tungsten electrode is mainly used to replace thoriated tungsten electrodes, which generally contains 2% cerium oxide. In the case of lower voltage, it is very easy to arc. Compared to pure tungsten electrode, cerium tungsten electrode has lower burn rate and evaporation rate. And these excellent properties will continue to increase depending on the content of cerium oxide. At low voltage, the life time is much longer. This electrode has no radiation, and has a lower melting rate with long life time. In addition, it also has some very outstanding chemical properties: small cathode spots, pressure drop, no burning.

Application

Because of the excellent properties of cerium tungsten electrode, it is mainly used in carbon steel, stainless steel, silicon, copper, bronze and other materials welding. Welded pipes often adopt cerium tungsten electrodes. All in all, the type of tungsten electrode is mainly used in DC welding. Since AC welding, cerium tungsten electrodes will be very prone to splitting.

Lanthanated Tungsten Electrode WL20


Introduction

Electrodes by adding 1.8% -2.2% of lanthanum oxide into tungsten can be called as WL20 lanthanated tungsten electrode. It has the highest content of lanthanum oxide in all lanthanum tungsten electrodes, so its performance will be relatively improved. High content of lanthanum oxide can make the type of electrode quickly ignite the arc, such as welding rod, wire and so on.

Trademark

Because of high content of lanthanum oxide, WL20 lanthanated tungsten electrode is often used in place of thorium tungsten electrode, which has lanthanum oxide content of 1.80 to 2.20%. Content of other impurities is less than 2.0%. Although the content of lanthanum oxide are the highest among three lanthanum tungsten electrodes, but its tungsten content is relatively low. Electrode tip color is sky blue.

Characteristic

Lanthanated Tungsten Electrode WL15

Introduction

Containing 1.3% to 1.7% lanthanum oxide of tungsten electrode can be the known as WL15 lanthanated tungsten electrode. W is the abbreviation of Wolfram, L represents lanthanum oxide. Its electrode tip color is golden yellow. Lanthanum oxide in the electrodes can extend its life, but at the time of delivery of lanthanum oxide, the operator must pass rigorous specialized training. It’s better to wear gas masks, safety glasses, anti-static overalls, rubber gloves and make other protective measures.

Content of lanthanum oxide of lanthanated tungsten electrode is less but the tungsten content is the greatest, which can brilliantly resist thermal shock, even in excess of the current load it can be maintained working at a longer period. Its electrode tip color is black.

Although WL10 lanthanum tungsten electrode only contains 1% lanthanum oxide, but it can improve the effect of welding to a certain extent. It has 98.4% tungsten, which cannot easily be oxidized and wore. Its color is black electrode.

Thoriated Tungsten Electrode WT40

Introduction

WT40 thorium tungsten electrode contains 4% thorium oxide. Most of the thorium tungsten electrodes have good electron emission ability, and the electron work function is about 2.7eV, which can enhance combustion stability. Although a small amount of thorium oxide is a radioactive element and it is damage to the human body, but this type of electrode can improve the quality of welding electrode to some extent. Introduction

Welding performance of thoriated tungsten electrode is one of the best electrodes of the tungsten electrodes, whose work function is relatively small.
