2.0 Tungsten Electrode


2.0 tungsten electrode means 2.0mm diameter wolfram needle. This specification of cerium tungsten electrode is specifically applied in stainless steel welding. 2.0mm diameter tungsten electrode is easy to arc, and it has a long life time and other characteristics, it is mainly used in DC welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel and titanium and other metals. Generally they are equipped with box, 10 pieces in each case.

1.6 Tungsten Electrode


1.6 tungsten electrode is tungsten needle, and its diameter is 1.6mm. Wherein 1.6 thorium tungsten electrode (red head electrode) is a traditional electrode type, it has a good welding function. Tungsten Needle Holder


Shape of tungsten needle tip is a critical factor for TIG welding. When using DCSP, electrode tip should be tip shape, and tip angle should be changed with the different ranges of applications, electrode diameter and welding current. Narrow joints need smaller tip angle, when welding very thin material, it requires low current to stabilize the arc.

Tungsten Needle Electrode

WZ8 Zirconiated Tungsten Electrode

Introduction

WZ8 zirconiated tungsten electrode contains about 0.8% zirconium dioxide, and the number 8 refers to content of the zirconium tungsten electrode. Characteristic

Tip of WZ8 zirconiated tungsten electrode is white. WZ8 zirconiated tungsten electrode contains about 8% zirconium dioxide, which can improve the efficiency of arcing and its AC welding. Content

Zirconium dioxide is an oxide whose hardness only to diamond. It can be prepared by zirconium oxychloride fumed, colloidal, dipping, hydrolysis, high temperature hydrolysis method, alkoxide solution. This type electrode also contains a little yttria, also known as yttrium oxide.

Zirconiated Tungsten Electrode WZ3

Introduction

WZ3 zirconiated tungsten electrode contains 3% zirconium oxide. W is abbreviation of Wolfram (tungsten), Z refers to Zirconium (Zr), 3 means the content is only about 3%. In addition, this type of electrode also having a high content of tungsten, containing 98 to 98.8% tungsten, closer to a pure tungsten electrode. It is to improve the drawbacks of pure tungsten electrode while welding, such as tungstenizing problem. While transporting zirconia, people should pay attention that it cannot be stored together with strong soda material, and it should be placed in a dry environment.

Trademark

Zirconiated tungsten electrode is mainly divided into two brands WZ3 and WZ8, since its been promoted, it is often used to replace pure tungsten electrode. In addition to the content of zirconium oxide, zirconium tungsten electrode also contains a bit of yttrium oxide and cobalt.

Characteristic

WZ3 zirconiated tungsten electrode is a metal rod that its electrode tip is brown, containing 2.5 - 3.0% of zirconium dioxide. This will help to improve the effect of welding results. Content

Zirconium is a chemical element with symbol Zr and atomic number 40. Zirconium is a lustrous, greyish-white, soft, ductile and malleable metal which is solid at room temperature. Melting point of Zirconium is 1855 °C (3371 °F). In the case of low temperatures, its molecular structure is monoclinic crystal, under the conditions of 1100 ℃ it will become tetragonal shape, when the temperature rose to above 1900 ℃, it will form the shape of a cubic crystal.
