BaW electrode can be prepared by dipping method, but this method has the disadvantages of complicated operation and difficult processing. The process to produce the electrode by dipping method is as following: 

Preparation of tungsten sponge: raw materials: 97g tungsten powder (250 mesh/cm2), 3g paraffin wax, 30-40cc aviation gasoline, glycerin; preparation process: pour gasoline into paraffin wax, melt the paraffin, and then pour the tungsten In the powder (about 180°C), stir quickly until no gasoline smell is smelled, then press into a block, and then sinter the pressed product at low temperature. The sintering temperature is 100~150°C/hour before rising to 600°C The speed is 200°C/hour at 600~1400°C, the temperature is about 1700°C during molding, and the final high temperature sintering (2000°C) is about half an hour.

Emission material: Put the barium aluminate into an oven at 100 for baking, then grind it into a block and put it in a molybdenum boat, add Al2O3 for sintering, when the sintering temperature reaches 700~800, Keep the temperature for 1 hour. When the sintering temperature is 1400°C, keep the temperature for 2 hours. After sintering into agglomerates, grind it to obtain a finished product.

Impregnated BaW electrode: Put barium aluminate into nitrocellulose and stir to form a paste, apply it to the surface of the tungsten sponge, and burn it to 1750°C until the color of the product is light green, and then sinter it. The electrode is put into a quartz container and vacuum-baked to obtain a finished product. Finally, the electrode is stored in a dry vacuum environment.

Tungsten Granule for Carbon Sulfur Analyzer

Tungsten granule is widely used as accelerator and catalyst in carbon sulfur analyzer to test the content of carbon and sulfur. The granular is applied pure tungsten powder with purity over 99.95% as the raw material, and sieved from the crushed tungsten bar. Therefore, the shape is irregular and mainly measured with a size range. The regular sizes we are producing are 10~20 mesh, 20~40mesh, 40~60mesh. Customized sizes are available. Besides the dimensions, as for it is used to test CS, the requirement of CS content in granule is restricted, which is C under 0.0008%, and S 0.0005%.

The CS analyzer is infrared CS analyzer, which is used to analyze the content of carbon and sulfur in chemical, steel, metallurgy, research and other industries. During testing, the samples are ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, rare earth, ores, ceramic, etc. The principle is heating the samples under high frequency induction, and testing the content of C and S through infrared absorption method. With the flux of W granule, the testing sample can release CO2 and SO2 quickly, and granule will oxidize to tungsten trioxide under high temperature, and sublimate at 900, so that the C and S gas will not be covered, but with higher spread speed and oxidization.

CS analyzer can test the CS content of copper iron, alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel, cast steel, rare earth, nonferrous metals, concrete, ores, ceramic, iron ore, etc. Leco, Eltra, NCS and Hitachi are all the brands of CS analyzer, and the testing methods are infrared absorption spectrometry, electric arc and high frequency.

How to Weld Copper Bonded Tungsten Copper Electrode

The welding method of copper bonded tungsten copper electrode is silver brazing, which is the most popular method in our workshop. The silver welding material is used, so that the electricity conductivity can be maintained.

Tungsten Iridium Stream Mouth

K Doped Tungsten Electrode

It has been a very popular situation for our company that our customers are inquiring a product, whose chemicals are unknown for both sides. The only one our customers know is the material related to tungsten. However, as for the large category of tungsten, it is difficult to provide a suitable material with such information, so that we have to find out a solution for that.

This time, we also encounter the same issue. We get a sample from our clients, and arrange the testing. As for tungsten is a refractory metal, which has been difficult to be used chemical method, we only test in by metal element analyzer. The testing result is that the material is with over 99.85% tungsten. Therefore, we recommend it as pure tungsten or K doped tungsten. 

Most of the customers are familiar with K doped tungsten wire but not electrode, actually K doped tungsten electrode is with the same chemical as the wire and the same properties, which is to decrease the deformation at high temperature. K is doped in the process of reduction from tungsten oxide to tungsten powder, which can assure the mixing result of the powder. During forging, as for the crystal of K is larger than tungsten, they are kept in the rod and forged together with tungsten. With content of 30~90ppm K, higher content, denser the K bubble, and better anti-deformation property. Following is an image showing the relationship between K content and K bubble clearly. 

There is a factor we need to point out that, during the production, the content of K is not as higher as better, as for K is also can be recommended as impurities, the forging process is influenced if the K is very high, such as higher than 120ppm, then the quality is influenced, for the bubble is existed in the rod and will be horizontal growing. Therefore, the ideal content of K doped is controlled in 30~90ppm for both wire and rod.

1.0  Hardness. Suitable hardness makes the larger contact, lower resistance, and also can lower down the contact temperature, decrease contact bonding, increase the wear resistance and longer the lifetime.

4.0  Chemical property. The contact should be with stable chemical properties, gas corrosion resistance and high volatility.

Considering the above factors, copper tungsten is chosen for it has owned all the above advantages, however, as for its thermal conductivity is still not enough for high voltage industry, it is welded on the copper part. Furthermore, in order to improve the electricity conductivity, the surface is always coated with a layer of silver.
