Tungsten Heater to Be Used in Vacuum Evaporators

Tungsten heater is a typical tungsten product made of pure tungsten wire or doped tungsten wire through drawing, stranding, pressing molding and surface treatment (electropolishing or alkaline cleaning or cleaning). 

It has quite excellent thermal, mechanical and chemical properties, such as high melting point, low evaporation rate, small thermal expansion coefficient, impact resistance and corrosion resistance, etc., so it has a wide range of uses, such as used as evaporation source materials for vacuum evaporators. 

Evaporation is a kind of vacuum coating technology. It is to put the plated parts to be coated in the vacuum evaporator. When the vacuum coating machine is powered on, the heater will heat up, and then the low melting point coating material hanging on its surface will be heated. Vaporization or sublimation, and in the form of atoms, molecules or atomic groups, the surface of the tungsten is heated, condensed on the surface of the plated part with a certain temperature, and condensed into a thin film.

It should be noted that the diameter, extension, shape and surface cleanliness of the heater should be checked before evaporation. Because the diameter or extension is too large, the heater is prone to fuse; on the contrary, if the diameter or extension is too small, it is not conducive to the assembly of plating materials, and its resistance will be too large, which is not conducive to self-heating.

Tungsten heater evaporation is mainly used to produce picture tubes, mirrors, plastics, car lights, mobile phone casings, precision optics, craft glass and coatings for photovoltaic products. Common plating materials are aluminum, iron, copper, nickel, chromium, etc.
